Two and a half years ago, Chloe Grace Moretz told us all she washed her face with olive oil. Did you try it? I did, and then I completely forgot about it.
However, I do remember it working so well and being interested in all the oil plugs coming out of my clogged pores. I started seeing oil cleansing trending on Twitter again in these last few weeks, and I was excited to try it again.
As I read everyone’s responses and threads to the oils that they used, I found myself in my bathroom looking through my options. Although my hair and body both love and respond well to coconut oil, I’m not a fan of the smell. I thumbed through to find jojoba oil and went in on the oil cleansing. I was so satisfied seeing the oil plugs pulled out, leaving behind a bunch of clean pores.
Oil cleansing should be done when your face is dry because if you didn’t already know oil and water don’t mix. I have also read varying lengths in time for how long to oil cleanse. I did it for a total of five minutes and saw such a difference, but of course, the time you spend is entirely up to you.
Following an oil cleanse, I do recommend using your regular cleanser to remove the oil but also any oil plugs left behind. Don’t forget to use a toner, eye cream, and moisturizer.
Clearer and better-looking skin are on the way!
