Beauty Therapy Equals Self -Care!

Everyone is different in the way they practice self-care. With COVID-19 bringing our everyday lives to a halt, it’s been very hard staying motivated and practicing self-care. For many, the way we take care of ourselves impacts the way we feel and the way we see ourselves. Self-care can look like numerous things. Here are some ways you can practice self-care and mindfulness through your beauty routine.

Dedicate That Time To Yourself

Set aside time every day for you! We are constantly trying to stay busy and fill our time with meaningful things but how much of that time is dedicated to caring for ourselves? Prioritizing time for ourselves can give you something to live for. Whether it’s the first thing in the morning while we wash our face or even in the middle of the day, make time to do the things that feel good.

Slow Down While Doing Your Routine

Life feels overwhelming and out of control sometimes so focus on the little things you can control. Appreciate and observe the way your routine makes you feel. Experiment with the colors and textures. Do they make your feel grounded? Are they cold? This time can help you really listen to what you’re feeling emotionally and physically. Use this time to reflect and plan the day and all you want to accomplish. What are you looking forward to today? Let the time you spend on your face care or makeup help you be present and grounded. Take this time to also check in on your body. Does anything feel new or different?

Skincare, makeup or even haircare can be used as ways to reflect and check in with yourself. Taking the time to truly care and pamper yourself will allow you to create a feeling of “normalcy” and motivation to start your day.
