Love it or Leave it: E.L.F. Liquid Eyeliner

The product I am reviewing is the E.L.F. Liquid Eyeliner. They have a few different liners in their collection, I am reviewing the triangle shaped bottle, this is the one that’s NOT waterproof.

I totally forgot to mention this one in my “favorite products video” last month, but this one is a YES! And a HELL YES at that!

The ELF Liquid liner is available at drugstores where ELF products are sold, and in comes in at a whopping one dollar! How does that not excite you?! I don’t know about you but that makes me feel warm inside!

So in a nutshell, LOVE it baby! And when you march on into the drugstore and get it tell em Jackie O sent ya!

August Favorites!

Welp it’s that time of the month again, my favorite products of the month. What may be a long and drawn out list for some of the other bloggers and vloggers on YouTube is usually condensed into only a few products for me because let’s be real – I’m SUPER picky!

E.L.F. Powder Brush
What’s labeled as a powder brush is actually amazing for foundation!!! Seriously! And it was only a dollar too! GIRL yes. You read that correctly. I have yet to use this for powder, I don’t really use buffer brushes too much but this stuff for my tinted moisturizers and foundations, good Lord!

LA Splash Cosmetics
I’m going to add this entire brand to my list of favorites for the month, simply because they offer an amazing range of well-pigmented products at a STUPIDLY cheap price. You guys know I’m glitter obsessed; my interest in LA Splash has been piqued for about a year now, I just never got around to ordering their stuff until last month. I’m SO glad I did! They have every shade of glitter you can think of, which are also cosmetic grade. And their pigments aren’t too shabby also!!

Diamond Dust in Premium

Pineapple Coral Glitter

Another amazing product is their Splash Sealer. This is THE adhesive you need to keep that glitter on your eyes and off the rest of your face. It’s amazing with glitter products!

The Diamond Dust powders are $8.99 each, the Splash Sealer $6.99 (which STAYS sold out by the way, so if you get your hands on it, buy it, buy 3!), and the glitters will run you about $6.99 each. I love coming across brands that aren’t really well-known but offer amazing products for a fraction of the price. LA Splash does much justice for all us struggling artists yo!

That’s all I’ve got for this month guys. Sidenote: funny enough after I recorded this video I thought of a few more favorites popped up in my head that I didn’t think to include, but it’s all good. There’s always next month :) Stay tuned! Happy Sunday lovers!

Aaliyah We Need a Resolution Inspired Makeup

Look number 3 from my series!

AND it’s been the most requested too! This is the dark eye/red lip look Aaliyah is rocking in the vid.

This is one of my favorite Aaliyah songs (Rock the Boat being number one) so I was pleased to do this look, and was pleased with how fab it turned out with the products I was working with.

How Stunning was Aaliyah in this video? We really began to see her aging gracefully from teenage star to young lady in this album. *tears*

I hope you guys enjoyed <3

Favorite Starter Brushes for Beginners

This is my guideline of brushes I feel that essentially every woman and/or makeup wearer needs to own! And this is what I consider the bare minimum!

The MAC 187
Great for foundation, gives you that nice airbrush finish that we’re all dying to have and it blends your liquid foundations like a dream. Nobody likes a frosting face!

A brow brush
I don’t have a particular favorite, the one I currently own is a tow-up Sonia Kashuk brush that I’ve owned for like 5 years that I refuse to replace for some odd reason LOL

ANYTHING from the E.L.F. Professional Line!!
Okay if you’ve ever seen E.L.F. (Eyes Lips Face) in a local drugstore or like a Target you may know that they’ve got several different options for their brushes. They’ve got their standard line, that has the white handles, and their professional line with the black handles. Okay, the brushes with the white labels SUCK. Save your $3 on those. But the brushes with the black handles are THE shiznit! Now granted they’re definitely not professional quality, and will not last you very long. The ferrels get detached from the bristles quite easily after cleaning them. But for THREE DOLLARS, and sometimes when they have sales you can get them as cheap at $1 each, can you really afford to complain? lol What I love most about their brushes is they’re sooooo soft, I think they’re amazing for a drugstore product and although they might not last you years and years, they’re still a great product! Especially those on a tight budget.

A large powder brush, a concealer brush, and small powder brush.
All of these you can find from the E.L.F. line and they are actually pretty awesome. The large powder brush so that you can apply sheer wash of face powders, the concealer for, well, concealer lol and the small powder brush for more intense color, such as applying blush.

Sigma E35 or any eyeshadow blending brush
This one is literally a MUST HAVE for eyeshadow! The Sigma E35, most comparable to the MAC 222 brush, has tightly packed bristles. This will allow more intense distribution of color yet will still allow you to blend well.

MAC 224 Brush
It’s quite like the Sigma E35 brush mentioned above except not as dense; the bristles are loose which allows for a sheer wash of color or when you might have over applied an eyeshadow in your crease and need something to tone it down with and blend some of the color out. This brush also works amazingly well with blending out concealer under the eyes. (the Pixiwoo gals taught me that one)

Sigma E55 or the MAC 239
Both brushes are quite similar in that they are designed for the application of eyeshadow on the eyelids. All that blending you’ll be doing in your crease is great but you’ll need something to be able to really pick up the color, grab it, and then press onto your eyelids and actually have the color show up. These brushes will do that for you.

An eyeliner brush
This one can either be a straight pointed tip, or an angled brush. If you’re on a budget you may want to consider just sticking with an angled brush, reason being is that is also doubles as a brow shading brush. Get more bang fo yo buck!

Other tools and things lest we not forget!

  • Latex Sponges – never underestimate the power of these things! They’re old school but let me tell you, they work wonders…
  • Beauty Blender Sponge – this one is like the new version of the old school latex sponges but better. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still good to have both. There is things the beauty blender really can’t do (like under eye area) but they blend foundations BETTER (yes I said it) much much better than brushes!
  • Powder poofs – those old things you used to play in whenever you’d dig into your moms makeup bag when you were a kid. Yea, turns out those things are incredible for applying loose and pressed powder products when you want a flawless finish.

And tada! That’s it! Those are my essentials and starters. What are your favorites?

Brandy/Monica It all Belongs to Me featuring JeanFrancoisCD on YouTube!

Collaboration time! The fun part about making is being able to creatively bring heads together with other artists. JeanFrancoisCD on YouTube contacted me about doing this look for the new Brandy and Monica Video, It all Belongs to Me and thought it would be awesome to do our own versions of the looks. I can’t remember the last time I did a video collaboration but I had so much fun with this one! Simply because he not only is fabulous as an artist but also as a person. I had fun and it was fun to be someone else for a change; the makeup looks in this video are off THE chain. Here, let me show you! (Watch full screen and in high quality if available, it does it MUCH better justice!)

Here is my version of the look Jean did the lime look that Monica wore in the video and I recreated the purple look Monica wore with nude lips.
