Aaliyah Rock The Boat Inspired Makeup

As announced on my YouTube channel this month I will be paying tribute to the late Aaliyah Dana Haughton by creating some of my favorite makeup looks of hers. I’m starting this series off with my absolute favorite Aaliyah song, Rock The Boat.

I chose to recreate her icy blue shadow in the scene where she’s dancing in front of a green screen with her dancers

YAY for celebrity inspired look and the NAKED Palette!

RIP Baby girl <3

June Favorites :)

Don’t get too excited because there aren’t a lot lol

Yall KNOW I’m a harsh critic so honestly I don’t see myself doing these every single month. Not that I haven’t been trying a lot of great things this month but only very very few were actually worth raving about for the month of June, here are my picks!

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows

Only one word may be used to describe these: FABULOUS! I was actually surprised at their color payoff, their shade range, and the amount of product you get for the price. Job well done, Maybelline! I will definitely continue to use these and they DO have great staying power and are smudge prood, so I wouldn’t doubt the 24 hours they claim to hold.

I don’t own all the colors, here’s just a few of them with some bonus swatches :)

NYX Indie Flick Lipstick and Wet & Wild Hot Paris Pink Lipstick
I was surprsingly impressed with these two!! NYX is the perfect hot red-orange for this summer, it reminds me of So Chaud from MAC. I also love the fact that it’s nude, but is super moisturizing. Hot Paris Pink is the perfect subtle pop of color, I don’t really care for a lot of pink on my lips (unless it’s like pale, or nude) but this one has me sold. Very very moisturizing, super shiny, and it smells like POPSICLES!!! #winning

China Glaze Peachykeen Nail Polish
Remember this from last weeks nail blog? Well here it is again! Thanks China Glaze for creating the PERFECT summer nail color for anti-nailpolish gals like me! Woo! lol just kidding, I’m not anti polish, I’m just very low maintenance with my nails since I’m constantly working with my hands and since my clothes and makeup looks are always so colorful, I prefer to keep my nails neutral. Peachykeen is amazing on dark skin is everyday wearable, even for the office!

Welp, for the Merry month of June, that’s all I got folks! Thanks for reading today. Till next time!
